Turbulent Mind

poetry pic

By Ritu Dey

Sick of a superficial smile

I am tired of proving myself

I need a shoulder to lean on

I long to rest my turbulent mind

Outside I may be laughing with you

Inside I am crying silently, all alone

Outside I may seem lively to all

Inside I am dying each moment, all by myself

Yes! I am a human too

I have some hopes and desires too

I am strong and hard like a rock

But that is the shell you must break

To reach me and hold me forever

Because I am sick of a fake smile

I am tired of being judged for each act

Wrap your arms around me

Protect me for a while

Let me rest my turbulent mind

And help me become strong
